PURPOSE: The Public Education Committee shall promote public recognition and relations on behalf of the MHBFSA. The committee’s goals shall include encouraging recognition and promotion of home-based family services in the State of Michigan.
FUNCTIONS: Develop and distribute a periodic newsletter to members. Promote and receive nominations for the President’s Award and Family Award to be recognized at the Annual Conference. Maintain the MHBFSA web-site. Endeavor to monitor legislation of interest to home-based family service providers and inform the Board and Association (any support for legislation affecting home-based family services may only be offered with the concurrence of the Board of Directors). Develop short and long range goals and objectives and annually review the committee’s roles and functions. Submit to the Board of Directors an annual Income/Expense budget, to be approved the first board meeting of the year, based on identified or anticipated expenditures.
